Children's Support Group

Summer Fun Program

    All of the YWCA Children's Programs are offered free of charge.

After School Kid's Club

Pre-school and School age children receive homework help, tutoring in all subjects, and participate in
fun learning activities.  A nutritious snack is served each day.

Meets:   Monday   Thursday    4:00 - 5:30 PM  during the school year at the YWCA
Eligibility:
Available to present and past residents of domestic violence shelter or homeless shelter.

Children's Support Group

Focus on violence prevention through participation in cooperative activities that increase self-esteem, communication skills, problem solving skills, and conflict resolution skills. 

Meets: Thursdays - 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the YWCA
Eligibility: Mother participates in Women's Support Group or by referral.  Open to school-age clients.

Summer Fun Program

 

 

June 16 - August 14, 2008
Monday through Thursday, 9:00-Noon

Come and join us at the YWCA for a summer full of laughter and adventure as we work together to increase reading, language, and conflict resolution skills through good, old FUN!

This is a FREE 9-week program and it is offered to students who are currently attending school in grades kindergarten through 6th grades.  Space is limited to the first 30 students.  Snacks are provided to all children.  Conflict resolution skills will be built through team building/positive communication games, craft activities and group discussion.  Daily activities will include games and crafts, storytelling, silent reading, group reading and skill building with tutors.
