BOOK CLUB
On-Going.........Third Thursday of
each month..........Noon-1:00 pm..........No Fee
If you want to join a book club where
participants tell you what they REALLY think about the book,
this is the group for you. We mince no words in discussing our likes
and dislikes of a book. We are a very informal group. We don't
have a leader, but take turns going around the room and hearing each
persons views about the book. This often leads us in to lively
discussions of past events in the area or in our lives. Before
leaving, we vote on a book for the following month.

AUGUST'S BOOK CLUB SELECTION
Meeting Thursday, AUGUST 19, 2010 from Noon to 1:00 pm
The 19th Wife by David
Ebershoff
Author
David Ebershoff mixes fact with fiction in this
intelligent thriller centered around the Mormon
church, and the origins of polygamy. Ebershoff
weaves together two narratives, one set in 1875, and
featuring the former wife of Mormon prophet Brigham
Young, and another set in present day Utah, focusing
on a man who was cast out from a polygamist family.
Ebershoff seamlessly moves back and forth between
the two tales, each story providing an educational
and engaging account of Mormonism and the history of
polygamy. (Fiction)
