Breaking Bread

A Step Towards Building A Strong Community

Relations among racial and ethnic groups present critical problems in our society.  As we share our experiences and ideas, talk openly and respectfully with each other, we will realize our differences are not so great.  This program is an opportunity to ‘break bread’ together and work toward understanding and trust.

Breaking Bread is a community-based program to provide individuals and families an opportunity to ‘break bread’ with people from diverse ethnic and racial groups, to increase our understanding and to help clarify or dismiss rumors, myths and stereotypes attributed to minority groups.

Breaking Bread meets every two months.  If you would like to be notified of events and meetings call the YWCA at 743-1535 or e-mail wendyd@lewiston.com
